Android app (.apk) · Android 8.0 and later

Version 2.4.7 41.7 MB released 2026-09-08
Android 8.0 or later Permission to install from your browser, asked once (see below) Works on phones, tablets, Android TV and Fire OS

Android will ask twice before it installs this

For your security, your phone is not allowed to install unknown apps from this source
Play Protect may also say: "Unsafe app blocked" or "App scan recommended".
Both prompts appear for every app that does not come from the Play Store, ours included. When your browser asks, tap Settings and turn on Allow from this source, then go back and tap the file again. If Play Protect offers to scan it, let it – it will pass. If it says "unsafe app blocked", that is Google’s warning about sideloading in general, and Install anyway is under "More details".

Updates install straight over the top, because every build is signed with the same key; if Android ever refuses an update with a signature error, the file did not come from us.

Installing

  1. Tap Download, then tap the file when your browser finishes.
  2. Allow installs from your browser when asked, and tap Install.
  3. Open the app and sign in with your account.
  4. Pick a location, press Connect, and allow Android’s VPN prompt the first time.

Checksums & signature

Optional, and worth doing if you downloaded over a network you do not control. The number below is the file’s SHA-256; if what you downloaded prints the same, it is byte-for-byte what this server published.

Print it yourself with sha256sum <file> in a terminal, if you downloaded on a computer first.

Other versions

Kept so you can go back if a new build misbehaves. The newest is almost always the one you want – older builds do not get fixes.

Other ways to connect, without our app

Privasee VPN is plain OpenVPN and WireGuard. Any client that speaks either one connects to exactly the same network with a profile from the config generator – you just do by hand what the app does for you.

WireGuard

The official WireGuard app from Google Play, plus a config from your account. Scan it as a QR code and it configures itself.

Google Play →

OpenVPN Connect

OpenVPN Inc.’s official app. Import a .ovpn profile from your downloads and connect.

Google Play →

Android TV & Fire OS

Same app. Sideload the .apk with a file manager, or use a WireGuard config – the remote works fine in both.
